OK. That’s all I could take. But the comments like these go on and on and on — there are thousands of them. And many of the ugliest comments received numerous “likes” from other readers.

The right wing base is sick to its core.

Here’s the deal: The more incendiary liberal comments I see on news posts?  Usually scattered, not very common.  Still disgusting and embarrassing, considering that they make just about as much of a point as these, but now I’m digressing.

The point is that liberal invective is largely promoted by outliers.  The fringe.  Unimportant, in the scheme of things.  This list of…I can’t really describe it as a list of anything other than unmitigated soul-crushing…is just another brick in a systemic framework of wildly exaggerated victimization, violent and insensitive rhetoric, almost spitefully willful ignorance, and a level of prejudice that echoes the worst excesses of the Red Scare and Manifest Destiny.

This…this is just depraved.  Anyone who would seek to court the favor of a base like this is no better.  No better than they, and not fit to do anything even remotely resembling running a convenience store, let alone a country.

EDIT: Oh, and anyone suggesting that they’re just saying it to “tweak the libs?”  You don’t joke about the senseless murder of an innocent kid.  Not ever.  It’s not satire when you mock a young man for being killed because he was black.
